We are all going to start a new adventure at Poptropica.com today. Every student is going to create a new player and then head over to Counterfeit Island. Today, our learning goals are:
  1. I can successfully navigate this environment. I solved the crime.
  2. I can interact with the players and each other effectively.
  3. I can get help from students in my class.
  4. I can save my game.
  5. I can get help from the walkthroughs. Are walkthroughs cheating or not cheating?
  6. I can discuss how advertisements effect gameplay and how to deal with advertisiments.

2nd Grade We're Going to the Zoo

Today we are taking a virtual field trip to the San Diego Zoo, and we will create our own zoo for our classmates to visit! Stay with your group and stay on task. We have to be back at Hutchings before our buses leave at 3:30. First, print out your animal.Next, gather facts, and take notes about your animal. Record your facts on the back of your printed animal. Color your animal picture if you have any remaining time.

Kindergarten Online Painting Sites

We can use technology to create! Let's explore some of the best online painting sites for kids. We will spend a few minutes at each site and then discuss similarities and differences of each site. We will be focusing on shapes and colors today.

Follow Mo Willems' directions below on how to draw the pigeon. Now draw your own pigeon, and re-illustrate the last page of the story. How do you think the story should end? What kind of trouble will your pigeon get in next? Make sure to add something to your scene, so your pigeon can start his next adventure.  Different living things like to live in places that suits their needs. Do you know where each animal should live and why? Visit Human and Animal Habitats.


Step 3:
 Back to Switcheroo Zoo. Time to Make New Animals. Anyone can describe why an animal would be a good fit for a certain habitat. Now, you need to create an animal that could never survive in the habitat that is chosen. Explain to your table partner.
